:) I was really bad this week :)
My irresponsible spending might make you feel better about whatever you have going on.
Listen, I made some irresponsible purchases this week. I don’t regret any of them, but I think we can all agree that this is the reason I’ll never own a home. Before we go into the THREE dresses I bought this week, let me get the fancy button out of the way. If you like this newsletter, forward it to a friend! If you’re that friend, subscribe below:

Ok, so here’s what happened. I couldn’t stop thinking about this Reformation print, so I went to go try on the last dress left in that print. I bought it. The next day, I was browsing the Nordstrom sale and noticed that this other dress in another print I was obsessed with a few months ago was back in stock. I tried it on at a Nordstrom in LA months ago but ended up telling myself I should think about it…then it sold out online and I was Upset. Anyway, I clicked into the Nordstrom tab and sighed (with disappointment AND relief) because it was sold out in my size. A few days later, I opened my laptop and refreshed the page and this bitch was in stock in an 8 with only one left. I clicked away, paced my apartment, did some dishes and went about my day. Next day, refreshed again and there was still one left. I decided I would regret not getting it. Ok, so now we’re at 2 Reformation dresses in 4 days.
I scored some cool stuff on Noihsaf Bazaar, an amazing resale account on Instagram that all of you should follow. First, I got these amazing earrings. Then, on the same account, I got yet another dress. This time from Paloma Wool. Their sizing is a bit insane so this one was a risk. It’s currently in transit…we’ll see how it fits.
I’ve been casually looking for some non-Spanx shorts to wear under dresses, so when The Daily Beast (where I work!) ran a sponsored post for a Yummie, a shapewear brand, I jumped on it. I got these cotton shorts and three different pairs of high rise thongs (one cotton, one modal/nylon and one seamless) because I liked the idea of wearing them with high waisted anything. I generally do not wear shapewear except for the rare occasion where I’m wearing a body con dress. What I liked about these is that there were lots of cotton options and different compression levels depending on what you’re looking for. The bras look great too, especially this one. (The sponsored post ran with a 20% off code, which you can find here. Note that if you buy something with this code The Daily Beast will get a cut).
Beauty
I went back to my hair salon (Pas De Deux) to get a keratin treatment along my hairline and for about an inch of my roots where I part my hair. This is a bit of a splurge but so amazing in the summer. I have wavy, frizzy hair and LOTS of baby hair. They like to frizz up like a fun halo when I let my hair air dry. No more! Not sure what this costs at other salons but mine charged $150. I did it last year too and it was great. This could be a game-changer for anyone with summer bangs! During that salon visit, I picked up a new tub of my favorite deep conditioner from Shu Uemura. It’s a must for color treated and/or damaged hair. You only need a little bit so it lasts a while. I use it in place of conditioner once a week. Haley, who has been cutting my hair for like 7 years now, gave me the staff discount because she’s an angel so I got it for 50% off :’)
I own this and love it
I switched eye creams a few months ago and started using Ole Henriksen’s banana bright cream. I have serious under eye baggage. I obsessively moisturize, so my under eyes aren’t dry, they’re just dark and puffy no matter what! This eye cream has made a real difference, and it’s half the price of the Drunk Elephant one I was using before. Sephora will make you a sample of almost anything, especially if its in a tub. Go get one of this eye cream and thank me later.
I know I keep talking about this Supergoop sunscreen but it’s so fucking good. If you’re in the market for something light but with decent SPF, this is your girl! Smells amazing and comes in a mini size for your bag.
What I didn’t buy
I’ve been looking for a new pair of white sneakers because I’m jumping on the dresses with sneakers bandwagon. Should I get another pair of keds or plain white vans?
Two weeks ago, I used a king sized bed sheet to make a sun shade in my backyard. This setup is extremely temporary, so I’m looking for an actual sun shade (maybe this one from IKEA) and trying to figure out how I would set it up. I probably need some poles (??), since all I have to drill into is a brick wall and that’s way beyond my skill level. Any handy people out there?
I started following this earring designer from Barcelona on Instagram and it’s really hard not to buy every single thing she posts!!! Everyting on this page is an extra 20% off and BAD NEWS she ships to the US :) :) :)
I did exhibit SOME self control this week. I didn’t get anything at the Madewell sale but left some tabs open because there’s a lot of great stuff in there. Anyone in the market for sandals? These are very nice in every color. These silver loafers are amazing. Reviews say they run a half size small so to all my size 10.5’s out there, today’s your lucky day! This denim wrap dress is great too, and you can keep wearing it in the fall with a long sleeve t-shirt. Also what is this weird bag? I sorta love it? This denim jumpsuit is extremely my shit AND they make it in petite and tall!
OK BYE!!
