It’s been a while! I’ve been busy saving houses on Zillow and then getting annoyed when they sell :). My latest fav is this 1970’s A-frame that someone just bought and I’m so sad. If the buyers don’t keep that orange fireplace they are dead to me.
Ok here’s what I’ve bought in the last couple of months:
After months and months of “meaning to” I finally started using retinol. I was overwhelmed with options and had so many tabs open. I couldn’t decide what I wanted (or needed?). My friend Casey recommended A313 (it’s on sale now!) so I bought it and it’s been great so far. I’m only using it two nights per week and haven’t experienced any dryness or irritation. My skin is noticeably smoother, especially in areas where I’m usually a bit bumpy, like around my nose and chin. As every skinfluencer will tell you: apply to dry skin and put moisturizer on top!
I got rid of a shitty, dull knife set that I’ve had for a long time and got this three-knife set by Food52 and I love them. Food52’s house line, including the dish rack I’m obsessed with, is now available at Nordstrom. This is exciting because Nordstrom is more likely to have sales/codes :)
My birthday was last month and I treated myself to this Cold Picnic runner for my bedroom. This was a style they released last year and brought back last month. I love her!!!
I’ve been in the market for a casual fall jacket and really like the “shacket” style. It looks like a shirt…but it’s a jacket! Say shacket out loud. It feels weird. I was very into these from No.6 and Isabel Marant but $$$$$$$$ and they’re wool blends. I ended up getting this one at Aritzia in heathered black and have worn it almost every day since it arrived. It’s 100% wool, thin but warm, and super cozy. It’s longer than it looks on the model and has an oversized fit. I’d normally get a large but I sized down to a medium and I still have plenty of room for layers underneath.
Lastly, I got some great pants on Noihsaf Bazaar for $65. They’re by WHIT and the plaid is verrrrrry similar to the uniform I hated wearing in high school :). I wore them recently with my favorite bodysuit:
Open tabs
Home Goods carries these candles called “Scentsational” (lol) that have Anthropologie vibes but don’t cost as much. I burned through mine already so I’m thinking of buying direct. My favorite scent is Fig & Cedar.
Did anyone else blow through The Home Edit’s Netflix show? I’m now very invested in bringing some order to my kitchen cabinets, which are a sad mess. I have my eye on a pot organizer, lazy susan and various glass containers at IKEA. I just need to measure and plan out what I actually need.
I’m almost out of my hyaluronic acid serum so that tab is open and ready to go. I’ve been using this one for over a year and it’s been great. It’s reasonably priced and the bottle lasts while. I only use 3 drops per application.
skindeva.I love these insane pants so much…
Since it seems like this work from home situation is How It’s Gonna Be for a while, I’ve been eyeing coffee makers. I’ve been eyeing the Oxo 8 Cup and a positive review from my friend Aleks sold me on it:
I do not need this Paloma Wool sweater but I like looking at it!
I’m waiting for these clog boots and this slip dress to go on sale.
Definitely getting a snuffle mat for Archie. Gotta keep the little freak busy!
I have an IVAR cabinet from IKEA in my kitchen and have been looking for ways to make it look more interesting. I briefly considered buying a jigsaw and a roll of rattan and just making cutouts in the doors (can’t imagine that going well!!) but then IKEA just….released the exact doors I wanted to make lmao
I’ve been thinking about this beautifully packaged exfoliant from Krave Beauty I saw on a Skinfluencer’s tiktok. Since I started using retinol I’ve been afraid to keep using The Ordinary’s AHA peel weekly. The Krave one is gentler, so I’ll probably use that one weekly and do the peel once a month.
That’s it! Reach out if you need help shopping for something or a second opinion on a leather jacket (buy the damn jacket, megan I swear to god!)
