HELLO it’s a great time to donate to one or more of these abortion funds. It is also a great time to wear one of my favorite t-shirts.
Here are my shopping tabs for the week:
Clothing
I went to Aerie for the first time in my life and now I’m mad I waited so long. I’ve mostly been wearing bralettes and these great stretchy bras since my breast reduction in January so I figured it was time to try on some “real” bras. I brought 10-15 into the fitting room and left with this super comfy lightly lined bra and this dumb lemon print bralette that I love mostly because I have NEVER been able to wear anything like this without spilling out of it!! I also got this yellow tie-front tank top. BTW everything in the store is 30% off, including swim! :)
I want to take a second to talk about the new Everlane jumpsuits that came out this week. What is happening here?? These don’t even look good on the models! What’s with this hospital scrubs blue fabric? And this neckline? Get it together, Everlane! Meanwhile, every jumpsuit at Madewell right now is perfect.
Beauty
I didn’t buy anything is this department this week because I’m trying to behave myself. HOWEVER I have really been enjoying these spin pins my colorist recommended. They’re great because they don’t crease or break your hair like a hair tie can. I’ve been using them to section my hair into two mini buns to encourage waves and sometimes I’ll wear one out of the house in a low bun. Overall, A+. (It takes a second to get the hang of them though, so be patient).
I didn’t buy this myself but I helped a guy friend with some skincare stuff this week. I suggested the CeraVe cleanser, Kiehl’s moisturizer and Midnight Recovery Oil. To the 6 men subscribed to this newsletter: MOISTURIZE!!!
Home
I got a 100-foot string of globe lights for my backyard because last year’s lights are broken and the globes are full of water. This is what I get for leaving them out all winter.
I’ve been on the hunt for a round dining table and have definitely looked at every single one that exists online, including craigslist. I’ve narrowed it down to this one from CB2, this one from Article and this other one from Article. There’s also this solid option from craigslist, though it’s a little smaller than what I wanted. I want to do a corner bench & chair combo and I’m wondering if I can even make that work with a table that has legs vs a pedestal. Suggestions welcome!
Since the weather has been nice, I’ve been spending more time in my backyard and using this chiminea I bought last fall. It’s very nice and keeps the bugs away. It’s a bit more expensive now but there’s a 15% off code at Hayneedle (YAY15) that runs through May 27th. If you have outdoor space, this thing is great. I bought a pack of Duraflame logs to use with it.
What I didn’t buy/What’s in the cart:
This $300 red raincoat. It’s beautiful but I can’t do it.
These Japanese floor cushions for my living room. They’re in my cart but I’m not ready to pull the trigger yet. I like that these can be stacked in a corner or tucked under the sofa when they’re not in use.
This baby quilt is really cute and someone should buy it!
I didn’t buy this because I don’t wear hats but I still want it…
Anthropologie will eventually have some sort of summer sale and these printed cups will sit in my cart until that happens.
These socks are great but I can wait for them to go on sale.
I did not buy hair perfume but I really want it and I can’t explain why.
BYE!
