Shocking but...I kept it light this week!
ALSO: Can I own two different shirts in the same print? Let's discuss.
I didn’t get to write the newsletter last week because I was busy. So busy that I didn’t actually buy anything! So I started writing this “things I already own and love” post but never finished it so none of you ever got it. I’ll save that one for another day!
Anyway, here’s what I bought this week (it’s been relatively light, which is probably a good thing?)
Clothing
I allowed myself one final bathing suit purchase: a strapless top. I haven’t worn a strapless bikini top since college but hey, new boobs new rules! Remember ASOS’ “one size fits all” swim line? I already have a top and bottom that I wrote about in my first newsletter. I went back for the strapless top and it’s great. (You can see all the different pieces here. ASOS has a pretty easy return policy so they’re worth trying on at home. Worst case you just ship it back). I got a couple of other things in the same shipment:
This fruit print pajama tank that I will definitely wear as a regular shirt.
This pajama shirt in the same fruit print that I’ve told myself I can’t keep but could be easily convinced otherwise. You’re welcome to weigh in.
One, two and three pairs of pool/beach/around the house shorts. I’m def keeping the third one, unsure about the others.
ALSO, many of you will be happy to know that I bought the EVA Birks…and they’re great, especially for the price. I wouldn’t say they’re “stylish” on my giant feet but they’re very comfortable to wear to the beach and I guess after a pedicure.
Home
I got organic weed killer for my backyard. I recently had a great guy come clean up the backyard area and I want to make sure I maintain the results. I needed something pet safe but honestly the fact that this brand is called the Green Gobbler is really what sold me. I also got this pop up pool for Archie that can serve as a big bath tub or a body of clean water for him to roll around in when its hot. I haven’t opened this yet but the reviews are great and the dog in the picture looks thrilled.
I’m not sure this is a “home” item but I bought a GREAT umbrella that is so satisfying to use. The button opens AND closes it. Maybe that’s a normal thing that “nice” umbrellas do, but I wouldn’t know! This is my first non-drugstore umbrella ever. Between this and the Stutterheim raincoat I’ve never been so excited for rain. I also bought this steamer that I was iffy on the last time I sent this newsletter. It’s such a great replacement for the literally “As Seen On TV” steamer I had for years. Everyone needs a mini steamer. Irons are for chumps.
Beauty
As someone who pays a decent chunk of change to have blonde hair, I spend a lot of time making sure I’m protecting my investment. I use and LOVE Shu Uemura oil every day (I love a dupe but accept no dupes for this one). It keeps my hair shiny and moisturized but it doesn’t protect it from the sun or salt water or chlorine, all of which I come in contact with over the summer. I use this Argan Oil spray to keep my hair from getting matted and dry in beach/pool situations but I bought Klorane spray this week to actually protect my hair from the sun and chlorine. It hasn’t arrived yet but I’ll be pooling all weekend and will report back.
What I didn’t buy//Someone should buy this
I wasn’t going to buy these sandals or these other amazing sandals but then I bought both and didn’t feel like adding them above. They were an extra 30% off (everything in the Anthro sale is!!) so I couldn’t resist because I am sick.
I didn’t buy these legs for my square Ikea Kallax but I will one day :)
I love a knit tank but I did not buy this one. Someone should!
