Discover more from buy, bitch!
I realize that the last true shopping post I did was over two months ago. The reason is that I clackity-clack-clack on my little keyboard all day and the last thing I want to do when I “clock out” is write more. Also the world is burning! MANY of you (one person, a dedicated fan) swarmed my DMs demanding to know when the next newsletter would come. Today’s your lucky day!!
Recent purchases:
A new quilt: I’ve been searching for a “summer quilt” for my bed on and off for a few months. My issue is that I wanted something like this but could not justify spending $420 on something my dog has access to. Then I found this one in the kids section of West Elm. If you’re looking for a decently priced geometric quilt, check these out: option 1, 2, 3 and 4)
Amika Shield Anti-Humidity spray: This was a true “TikTok made me buy this” moment. My hair frizzes up instantly when it’s humid, making curtain bangs a real challenge in the summer. I blow out my bangs with this spray and they stay sleek and frizz free all day. I don’t know what’s in this stuff but it really works. It keeps selling out, so I had to turn on the restock notifications here. (Note: Looks like its in stock for now here!)
Trader Joes dupe for Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen: TJs sells a “matte face sunscreen” for $8.99 that is, in my opinion, a 90% match for Supergoop’s more expensive Unseen Sunscreen. The only thing is that it takes a bit longer to dry, so you have to wait to put on any makeup. If you can find it at your TJ’s buy a handful!
Dusen Dusen pepper mill: I was buying a friend’s bridal shower gift and threw this in my cart to get free shipping. I’m not interested in questions or comments about this math. If you want this pepper mill, buy it here and get 15% off with code SUMMER15.
Monitor stand: I browsed the Anthropologie sale last week and got this monitor stand for just under $30 and I LOVE it. My monitor has been resting on a stack of books since April 2020 so this is a massive upgrade for me. I love that it can store my laptop too. West Elm has what looks like the same exact one for $120 somehow? Lots of cute options in all price ranges on Etsy too.
The Great Eros sample sale: I was able to grab my favorite bralette in another color during this sale. I got the matching bottoms too. Both pieces are still available in size XL. If you ever find yourself by their store in Williamsburg I highly recommend stopping in to try some stuff on. The canova bralette is supportive but super comfortable and it washes well.
Trousers from Big Bud Press (pictured below): I bought these great trousers at the Big Bud store during a quick trip to LA in May. They have an elastic back!!! I highly recommend! Their NYC store opens July 9th.
Fellow Kettle in blue: Let me just say that this kettle is insanely overpriced, even though I got it on sale (shout out to The Strategist). Despite the price…I smile every time I look at it. She’s beautiful.
Salad Freak by Jess Damuck: I really, really love this book. The recipes are great and mostly easy. I also just really like Jess Damuck?? I loved the Martha Stewart anecdotes in this interview she did and am obsessed with her house.
Some recent outfits: Black dress is from Zara, beaded bag (similar one here)/ green pants from Big Bud Press / Red dress from Mara Hoffman, shoes from Charlotte Stone.
Tabs I bravely closed (for now):
This Mara Hoffman dress made me scream :)
These dessert plates are cute.
I continue to be obsessed with this line of knit swimwear.
The only reason I did not buy these pants (which I already own in two colors) is because my size sold out.
Love this Sonic Youth shirt.
Look at these disco ball cherries!!
I keep looking at skorts?? Has anyone found one they like?
