Welcome back to Buy, Bitch, a newsletter I continue to neglect! This week I launched a new series with Defector. It’s a monthly design advice column called Make It Nice. Check it out!
Also, the Sephora Insider sale starts on April 4th. Here are my Sephora favorites! Let’s get into my recent buys:
What’s wow’d me lately:
Egeau hand soap: A few months ago, I was sitting in the cozy window seat at Carrie Lindsey Beauty waiting for my eyebrow appointment to start. I popped into the bathroom, and while I was washing my hands the scent of the hand soap made me say “damn” out loud. I took note of the name on the bottle and went on my way. Later that day, I realized the scent of the hand soap still lingered, a pleasant surprise every time my hands went near my face. I had forgotten the name, of course, so I called the studio to awkwardly ask about the soap in their bathroom. The woman who answered told me the brand is Egeau, they sell it at the studio and that it’s made locally by a client of theirs. It’s perfect. I want it as a perfume, a candle, a room spray. I want to bathe in it!
Sofie Pavitt Omega Rich Moisturizer: I love Sofie Pavitt’s entire line, but this moisturizer is my new favorite. I use it at night and wake up GLOWING. Go try the tester at Sephora and see for yourself.
Dusen Dusen Red Weave Robe: I bought this because I needed a cozy robe to wear while letting my hair air dry on wash days. It’s so soft and I love the print.
Madewell Curvy “Perfect” Vintage Wide Leg Jeans: This is the first pair of jeans that has fit me perfectly off the rack in a long time. On me, jeans are often loose at the waist but too tight at my thighs or crotch. Even the beloved Abercrombie “curve love” jeans don’t fit me. I wanted a pair of jeans that were loose but still polished and long enough to wear with sneakers or heeled boots. Shout out to Madewell for making long inseams! Someone get them to make these same exact jeans in a dark wash.
Foldable wagon: I bought this foldable wagon after seeing a billion TikToks about it and I’m happy to report that it’s great. I’ve used it for groceries, laundry and for lugging stuff to our building’s recycling room.
Miniature flower house kit: I started RHONY from the beginning and paired it with this miniature greenhouse kit. This took several weekend afternoons to complete but I had so much fun building it. It’s extremely tedious, especially in the beginning, but it’s a great project to do while you’re mainlining several seasons of Bravo.
Bode Astrograbber: I am not a sneaker person but I love the Bode Nike collab. The Astrograbber is the most comfortable sneaker I’ve ever worn. I love the green, though I initially had some difficulty styling it.
Tabs I bravely closed:
This stainless steel french press is so sick.
This dramatic parka from Cecilie Bahnsen’s collaboration with North Face took my breath away, and so did the $1000 price tag.
I love these “pierced” sunglasses.
I fell down a chair rabbithole recently. Look at these incredible Italian leather and chrome folding chairs.
Do I need a Scary Island t-shirt yes or no…
Absolutely incredible dining chairs.
I need someone to buy these stackable plywood drawers.
GREAT pants.
