It’s been a while, friends. I’ve been tired (and lazy, tbh) but today I am back with lots of new purchases, abandoned carts and haunted tabs from the last two weeks.
First, I wrote about this last time but the photobooth I pieced together for my birthday was amazing. I used an old iPad and was shocked at how good the gifs looked! The recipe is: Simplebooth (I did the $29 one and canceled the subscription next day), this ring light with an iPad holder (now $10 off) and a light stand.
Next, I tagged along to the Bando sample sale with my friend Jill. She gets all the invites and I’m the forever plus one. I picked up three sets of these terrazzo print cups. I’m slowly gathering plastic/melamine stuff because I feel guilty using solo cups when friends are over and don’t want broken glass outside. These are great and at the sale they came out to $8 per set. They’re $12 online now! I also got this giant red tote. Jill talked me into it and I’m so glad she did. I’ve been wearing it and it’s so spacious but not annoying to carry! It’s also available in black and lilac. It fits a 13-inch laptop and don’t worry, the pom pom comes off! I grabbed this backpack and matching lunch bag for my 6-year-old cousin for $35.
Jill and I also went to the Reformation sample sale this week. I got one of their stretchy knit dresses (I sized up because those fuckers are TIGHT). It’s basically this but short sleeve and ribbed, stretchy fabric. I also found a dress that had sold out before I decided I wanted it (months ago). They only had it in a size 14 but I bought it and took it to my angel Andy at The Tailoring Room. (If you’re thinking “wow that print looks familiar!” yes…I do own another dress in this print, which I will be selling…no further questions at this time)
This is getting gross….but Jill and I also went to the Vivienne Westwood sample sale……lol….I got a bag….thats all you need to know. Here she is:
On the beauty side, I got a new bottle of Missha’s essence (it’s a very good SK-II dupe). I ran out of it a couple of weeks ago and my skin is feeling it, especially my forehead. Im 5 days into using it again and the little bumps on my forehead are going away! (I use this morning and night, after toner but before hyaluronic acid.)
I went to Everlane’s new store in Williamsburg, which is bigger and more organized than the one in Soho. I got this cardigan, which I’ve worn almost every day since, and this cropped henley. (Note: if you go to the williamsburg store with the intention of trying stuff on, go to the iPad by the fitting room FIRST to put your name in the queue. Then shop. The fitting room wait time is less painful this way)
And I need to mention the weird pants from Uniqlo one more time. I love them & I recommend trying them on. I’ve been wearing them cuffed with slip on Vans which is almost too Avril Lavigne for me but I love it.
What I Didn’t Buy
I did not buy this beautiful sweater at Everlane (it’s a much brighter blue in person) because I’m setting a one in, two out closet policy for sweaters.
I’m UPSET because I fell in love with these No.6 boots and they are $420???? (But also…nice :]…). Looking forward to when they go on sale but still cost $300!
I’ve been eyeing these Jeffrey Campbell boots in white but I cant decide if they’re too intense?
I’m looking for a new comforter and taking a tour of the various Instagram brands. There’s Buffy, which many people (Jill) are saying is good. There’s Brooklinen, which is more $$$. I just want something I can easily wash. Recs are welcome!
Im still eyeing this jacket! AND THIS SWEATER?? But again….two out, one in policy (for both).
THATS ALL BYE!
